Greetings everyone,
Check out this site everyone, It has the Phonemic Chart with all the IPA symbols and sounds expect for Triphthongs.
You can also download the chart to your computer for future use; however you must have an updated version of Adobe Flash Player to use it.

[Important To Note] Phonemic awareness is not phonics. Phonemic awareness is the ability to hear, identify, and manipulate individual sounds-phonemes--in spoken words. Before children learn to read print, they need to become more aware of how the sounds in words work. They must understand that words are made up of speech sounds, or phonemes (the smallest parts of sound in a spoken word that make a difference in a word's meaning).
Please do not pay attention to the voiced [p,t,k] sounds, as we know these sounds are aspirated.
Blessings.

Monophthongs, Diphthongs, Triphthongs
http://www.siff.us.es/fil/publicaciones/apuntes/teresals/apartado%204-0.pdf
Hello Again,
The link should take you to an article providing details on the monophthong, dipththong and triphthong. It appears to be a portion of a research on English Vowels and the link is all the information I garnered regarding the source. It makes an interesting read however, it's relatively lengthy, but once you get into it ends before you know.
Also you may refer to the course manual pages 17-24. it too provide details on the vowel sounds, the places of articulation and the IPA symbols.
See you all tomorrow and please don't forget to practice for the test. I'm sure Mrs. Porter-Jones will be surprised by our much improved voice and speech tomorrow. Let's show her just how confident we can be. Oh wait, she can view this post right...(covers face)
Vowel Sound - Diphthong
I trust you all had a productive week.
I found a useful Youtube video on Diphthongs. It defines the diphthong, provides sound and word examples for each diphthong. It makes good practice. Also pay attention to her mouth in sounding each diphthong, especially as it appears in a word. I hope you find it as useful as I did.
